All England Girls Chess Championships

Northern Region, 1st October 2005

Another very successful All England event took place in Aughton on the 1st October. Thanks to Ian Hughes, we were again able to use Aughton St. Michael's CofE Primary School, which I hope will become the permanent home for this tournament.

Thanks to all the competitors for making this such a fabulous event. Thanks to all the people who helped the tournament run so smoothly; Ian Hughes, Peter and Gill Turner, Ruth Sheldon, Steve Lamb and the lovely ladies who kept my caffeine levels topped up all day.

Natalie Cass, the under 8 champion in action.

A great tournament for Sophie Seeber who won the under 18s.

Trophy Winners:
Under 18 Sophie Seeber
Under 14 Amanda Hipshon
Under 12 Abigail Pritchard
